A very light sponge cake that makes the perfect base for cream and fruit fillings
Easily create the best base for your cake with the FunCakes mix for Sponge Cake. With this easy to prepare baking mix you can make fluffy, high and even sponge cakes of confectioner quality. You will bake a beautifully flat and tasty cake which you can then decorate in any way you wish.
Preparation: See the quantity table on the package or go to www.funcakes.com for proportions and baking times. Preheat the oven to 175°C (convection oven 160°C). Ingredients need to be at room temperature. Put the mix, eggs and water in a bowl. Mix at high speed for 7-8 minutes. Then mix at low speed for another 2-3 minutes. Pour the batter into a buttered baking pan (1/2 to 2/3 full). Place the cake in the oven and don’t open it during baking! The cake is ready when it feels springy to the touch. Release the cake immediately after baking and let it cool down on a cake grid.
Example: 250 g of mixture (with 200 g of egg and 25 ml of water) is enough to prepare a cake with a diameter of 20 cm and a height of 7.5 cm.
Ingredients: sugar, wheat flour, wheat starch, emulsifier: E472b (palm, rapeseed), E477 (palm), raising agent: E500, E341, E450, E336, E575, glucose syrup (dried), milk powder (skimmed), salt, flavouring, thickener: E415.
